The Director of Campus Life organizes many of the social events held by the GSU, including GradFest, WinterFest, and Supervisors’ Nights. Interacting with clubs, societies, and resource centers at the University; the Director of Campus Life also oversees the GSU Excellence Awards.

My name is Fatima Mehdi, and I am a graduate student at Memorial University Newfoundland.
I am highly honoured and delighted to serve as the Executive Director of Campus Life at GSU for 2023-2024. During my work period, my primary objective is to organize events that will help you in both your career development and recreational activities. I intend to ensure that each student at our university feels at home and comfortable on our campus. I understand that graduate school can be challenging, but I want to bring opportunities to grow professionally and have fun during your time at the university. I believe that a healthy and well-rounded campus life is essential to academic success and personal growth and development.
I plan to arrange a plethora of programs and events for the upcoming year, and I encourage you to take advantage of them. I will have something for everyone, from sports tournaments to social clubs, volunteering opportunities, and academic support groups with outdoor trips and movie nights. Our campus is a diverse community, and our programs would reflect this diversity.
At Campus Life, the GSU’s goal will be to create an inclusive community where every graduate student feels welcome and supported. I believe that by offering a range of events and activities, we can help you achieve your academic, professional, and personal goals.
