GradFest 2011 Schedule

Events:

Tuesday September 6^th, 2011:

Graduate Orientation and Registration – All new graduate students are encouraged to attend the graduate orientation. This will start at 9 am, and will include a continental breakfast. As soon as the orientation session concludes, tickets for GradFest events will be sold. Campus tours will also take place at this time.

Welcome BBQ – Come down to Bitters pub for some free burgers, fries and salad. Come meet your fellow grad students. (Free)

Wednesday September 7^th, 2011:

Brass Lunch – This is your opportunity to meet the upper faculty of Memorial University. Come have a delicious free lunch that are made and served by graduate students. (Free)

Bowling and Pizza – There will be glow in the dark bowling taking place starting at 4. There will be pizza to follow. ($5)

Haunted Hike – Come join us for a late night tour of downtown St. John’s. This tour will describe the spooky history of the city. ($3)

Headquarters – Join us at Headquarters – downtown St. John’s – for some great live music – tickets sold during orientation and at the door. ($3 advance ticket/ $5 at the door)

Thursday September 8^th, 2011:

Paintball – Always one of the favourite events during GradFest. No better way to meet new friends than to shoot em down! ($8)

TAUMUN BBQ – The fine folks of TAUMUN will be hosting a BBQ at Bitters. Come grab some more free food! (Free)

Trivia Night – This will be the first trivia night of the new school year. This popular night takes place every Thursday throughout the year. Come early and get a seat!

Friday September 9^th, 2011:

Quidi Vidi Brewery Tour – Come taste some of the best brewed beer in Newfoundland and see how it’s made! ($5)

Downtown Orienteering – Come down to George St. and visit some of the smaller bars where you and your group will have to perform a task to move to the next bar! ($5)

Saturday September 10^th, 2011:

Pancake Brunch – Come join us at Bitters early Saturday for some delicious pancakes. ($2)

Amazing Race – Sign up for the St. John’s Amazing Race. Starting at Signal Hill, you will get to tour the city stopping at all the major venues on the way. (Free)

Live Band at Bitters – We will be having a live band playing at Bitters Saturday night. Bring your dancing shoes! There will also drink specials throughout the night. ($5)

Sunday September 11^th, 2011:

Signal Hill and Cape Spear Tour – Finish off your orientation with some of the best views of Newfoundland from Signal Hill and visit the most eastern point of North America at Cape Spear! ($5)
