About
For over a decade the Graduate Students’ Union and the School of Graduate Studies have hosted the Aldrich Interdisciplinary Lecture and Conference. The Aldrich Conference offers graduate students the opportunity to gain valuable presentation experience in an informal setting. The conference’s scope will be a national one, inviting presenters from all over Canada.
Interdisciplinary conferences such as this one offer academics an opportunity to engage with colleagues from different disciplines. They also increase communication between experts and non-experts by bringing together researchers from every department, and encouraging accessible approaches to common questions. With this vision in mind, we believe the Aldrich Interdisciplinary Conference is an ideal forum for studying contemporary problems and changing the way we, as a society, approach the creation of knowledge.
We encourage graduate students and senior level undergraduate students to actively participate in this initiative. Sign up for our listserve, read about the themes we’re suggesting for the conference, and come out to the lectures and social events. This website will be the hub of information for the conference, so check back often!
