Along with the rest of the GSU Executive, I’d like to welcome you to Memorial University for the 2010-2011

academic year!This is shaping up to be a busy and exciting year, and it’s my pleasure to represent you as your VP Communications and Research.

This year I plan on focusing my energies in two areas that I feel are particularly relevant to graduate student life: providing an open forum for information that is important to you, and helping to foster a stimulating environment for research and the exchange of ideas.

One of the key events for academic exchange at MUN is the annual Aldrich Interdisciplinary Conference. I strongly believe that it is the most accessible venue available to us for sharing our research in a broader community. I plan on dedicating a lot of energy to this conference this year in order to provide you with a worthwhile and memorable academic experience. Stay tuned – you will be receiving information soon!

I bring considerable experience to the table in this position, having worked in communications on various student councils, as well as in outreach departments for both the federal government and the private sector. Most of all though, I am firmly committed to making sure that you know what’s happening on your campus, and that you are provided with the opportunity to voice your concerns, speak your mind, and share your advice.
