Welcome, fellow grad students, to the 2011-2012 academic year at Memorial. Along with my colleagues I am very much looking forward to the upcoming year, and I hope you feel the same.
I am so pleased to be serving the GSU as this year’s VP Communications and Research. I believe that informed and engaged individuals are the foundation of an effective student body. It is my aim to make sure that every student is aware of the services and opportunities offered by your student union.
One of my top priorities will be the Annual Aldrich Interdisciplinary Conference, an academic exchange between fellow students from all disciplines. There is so much to be learned from the work of our peers. One might find even find common research themes in the most unsuspecting places! This is an optimal opportunity for you to share your work with others and to discover more about MUN’s academic community.
I encourage you to contact me should you have questions about the GSU’s function and services or if you wish to get involved in the GSU. After all, one gets out of things what they put into it.
